Songs of the Susquehanna

About the project ...

The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is entering its fourth year of the Songs of the Susquehanna project, which has been a huge success for a variety of reasons. For one, it has opened the door to conversations with new audiences about various river-related topics and issues. It also allows us to elevate our local musicians and show off their amazing levels of talent and passion for our region.

We need your help in selecting the songs that will be featured on Songs of the Susquehanna: Volume 4! Below, please listen to the submissions we received for this year's project and tell us which five, in order, are your favorite (and why). You can share with us up to five others that spoke to you as well. We will be scoring these based on your feedback and this will help us make the final decision on which 20 songs will make the final 2024 album.  Those that fill out the full form by Feb. 29 will be entered into a random drawing for some association prizes.

If you have any questions, contact Riverkeeper John Zaktansky directly at [email protected]

Donations specifically to the Songs of the Susquehanna project will be used to cover costs for the project (creating CDs/albums) and the rest will be divvied up among musicians whose songs make the final playlist.
Donations specifically for the Songs of the Susquehanna project will be accepted through Feb. 29, 2024, using the form below.

The following is the full list of submissions considered for our Volume 4 album. Please listen to each one and provide feedback in the following form by Feb. 29, 2024. We will be announcing the final list of Volume 4 album songs in early March. The first set of songs are instrumentals. The rest have lyrics. For those that do, lyrics can be downloaded using the "Lyrics" button next to each selection if you want them. If you have any questions, please contact Riverkeeper John Zaktansky at [email protected]

Again, please use the form at the bottom of the page to submit your official feedback on these songs by the end of February 29, 2024!
