The Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association will hold its annual Quiz & Cuisine trivia night event on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Montour Preserve from 6-8:30 p.m.

This year's gathering will again feature an evening of random environmentally focus trivia with prizes throughout the evening and a meal provided by Graceful Catering (out of Middleburg).

New this year at the event will be live music provided by Jack Servello and lyricist Bill Dann, the team behind popular Songs of the Susquehanna selections "Gentle Giant of the Susquehanna," "The Fish Fight Harder in the Susquehanna" and "Ole Susquehanna Sam."
Also new at this year's Quiz & Cuisine will be a silent auction with items people can bid on with all proceeds going toward the association's Vernal School Environmental Education Partnership/Montour Preserve project. If you'd like to donate an item for the silent auction, or as a prize for the trivia competition, please contact Riverkeeper John Zaktansky at [email protected] or 570-768-6300. We showcase businesses and other groups that support our work via our Community Partners page.

Cost for this year's program is broken down into two categories. The meal is $15 a person. It will include choice of pasta dishes (lasagna or penne with chicken alfredo or marinara with meatballs) as well as a salad, assorted desserts and drinks.

In addition, we are asking for a donation of any size to our association to cover admission. These donations will be used to cover cost and also go toward important Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association initiatives and programs designed to protect and promote the health and vibrancy of the Susquehanna, its tributaries and the creatures that depend on these resources.

Some of the donations for the silent auction so far include:
  • Overnight getaway at Bear Mountain Lodge, Bear Meadows Lodge or Bear Midtown (all in or around Wellsboro, PA) via a $300 gift certificate donated by www.BearLodgesWellsboro.com
  • A two-person kayak rental from Rich Port Adventure Company in Muncy, PA.
  • Two separate free tax return preparations and consultations done by CPA or enrolled agent with the IRS donated by Lee A Viard & Associates out of Williamsport
  • Potted cactus/succulents and photos by Dick Hess
  • Two landscape pieces of artwork by Lynne Kibbe
  • Screech Owl artwork by Ron Beach
  • Cardinal artwork by Bob Crain
  • Montour Preserve shirts by the Montour Area Recreation Commission
  • 28-can Igloo Overland Tote Cooler
  • Coleman 225-square-inch Roadtrip portable grill
  • Moosejaw Chilladilla 36-can leak-proof soft-sided cooler
  • Flambeau seven-tray tackle box
  • Family pass for any Floating Classroom program this summer aboard the Hiawatha Paddleboat

Trivia and results for this year's event will be conducted online via Kahoot, an online non-app program easily accessible via cell phone or tablet. Those who plan to participate in the trivia are encouraged to bring a device to use. If one is needed, please indicate that in the registration below.
