Penn State Extension educator Cat Pugh led presenting during the Tuesday, Sept, 15, 2026, Floating Classroom aboard the Hiawatha Paddleboat in Williamsport. She reviewed various plant species that are used in riparian buffers, benefits for many of them and ways for people to potentially earn income and other incentives based on plant use in riparian buffer zones on their properties. Students from the Fern Hill School near Milton joined families and others aboard the cruise, which included some hands-on live plant engagement along with other interactive features.
