Based on the success from last year's event of the same name, the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association is hosting its second annual Quiz & Cuisine event at the Montour Preserve educational center on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 6-8:30 p.m.

The event, designed as a way to mark the Earth Day weekend, will feature a trivia night competitions using questions pulled from numerous interesting facts and stats related to the Susquehanna River.
"We had a great turnout for last year's event, and it was the perfect opportunity to chat with people of all ages about our river's resources," said Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper John Zaktansky. "We anticipate even more getting involved this year, and we are currently collecting donations from local businesses to give out as prizes. Come join us for a good meal, a fun competition and some valuable discussion about the region's most valuable resource -- the Susquehanna River."

Cost for this year's program is broken down into two categories. The meal is $15 a person and will be provided by the Graceful Catering Service out of Middleburg. It will include choice of soups (beef vegetable, loaded potato and chicken corn) as well as wraps (Italian, buffalo chicken, turkey/cheese and vegetable) and sliders (ham & cheese and cheesesteak). Assorted desserts and drinks will be included.

In addition, we are asking for a donation of any size to our association to cover admission. These donations will be used to cover cost and also go toward important Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association initiatives and programs designed to protect and promote the health and vibrancy of the Susquehanna, its tributaries and the creatures that depend on these resources.

Those that plan to attend will need to fill out the registration form on this page. Once that is submitted, a link will be emailed where you can pay for tickets or you can mail a check to the Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association at 112 Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.

Trivia and results for this year's event will be conducted online via Kahoot, an online non-app program easily accessible via cell phone or tablet. Those who plan to participate in the trivia are encouraged to bring a device to use. If one is needed, please indicate that in the registration below.

Businesses, groups and individuals can donate prizes or cash to be used toward prizes for this event by contacting Riverkeeper John Zaktansky at 570-768-6300 or via email at midsusriver@gmail.com.

Those that donate will be displayed at the event as well as included in our online Community Partners acknowledgement program.
